I was quite good at drawing at school, but the teaching was minimal so I gave up Art as a subject and did not take it at GCE. Now in retirement I decided to give it another go. After a few classes with other teachers I was not making great strides – until I joined Isabelle’s class. Isabelle has introduced me to a wide range of materials and techniques, some of which would otherwise have eluded me – collage, drawing and painting with inks, charcoal, pastels, screen printing, the use of moulding paste to create 3D effects, watercolour, as well as painting with acrylic. I have created art works which I would never have believed I was capable of, thanks to Isabelle’s clear demonstrations of techniques and methods, and guidance. I am very happy that I joined Isabelle’s class. The confidence I have acquired will encourage me to continue to create and experience the joy of art!

Throughout my life I was convinced I couldn’t paint, but Isabelle changed my views as soon as I joined her art classes. She is a brilliant artist herself, and as a teacher she instills confidence in her students to express themselves and to enjoy the process of creating a painting. Isabelle is endlessly patient, she has a large store of great hints and tips so that at the end of the class I always take a painting home I am pleased with. I wish I had joined Isabelle’s classes a long time ago, who knows, I could have been famous by now!

I have really enjoyed Isabelle’s art classes. It’s been just the right thing for me to be able to turn up and be creative. Everything is provided and I’ve enjoyed exploring different styles of art! Even though I am no where near an artist, I’ve felt comfortable to have a go. Isabelle creates a relaxed, welcoming environment and she is a lovely art teacher. Highly recommend!

Isabelle's classes are a joy - expert tuition with a light touch. The classes are friendly, supportive and non-judgemental and all materials are provided so you can try many different techniques. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or think you are no good at art; you will have fun, learn a lot and surprise yourself at what can be achieved!

Isabelle reignited my enthusiasm for art, particularly watercolour. Isabelle showed me how to use watercolour paints and now I paint each day. There was a chance to explore new media, to expand our potential. I loved my Wednesday morning classes and will miss Isabelle very much. Do take the opportunity to learn from such a giving teacher and enjoy art.
